Review | The Best High Street Eye Make Up Remover.

At the start of 2013 I decided I was going to have a skincare regime, and not just use my face wipes, things are going well so far!! In that time I have been through my fair share of eye make removers, and I thought I would share with you guys which have been my favourite, and which one can actually remove Benefit’s ‘They’re Real’ mascara!! A clear winner in my eyes.

Simple ~ Kind To Eyes Eye Make Up Remover (125ml) £3.39 available at Boots ~ link.

This is the only eye make up remover out of the three that doesn’t have a scent, I think it would definitely be a winner for girls with sensitive skin! I found that it did remove my mascara well, I would have to use at least three cotton pads well soaked. The liquid dried nicely onto my face and didn’t leave a sticky residue. Also another important factor is when the liquid inevitably got into my eyes it didn’t sting. I would give this product a 5/10.Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make Up Remover With Grape (150ml) £3.15 available at Boots ~ link.

This was my favourite smelling out of the three, the smell of the grape extract really came through. Unfortunately it wasn’t as good as ‘Simple’ when removing my mascara, it would either take more cotton pads or I would wake up the next morning with slight panda eyes. The liquid gave the skin around my eyes a nice tight feeling which personally I like but others don’t. Similar to the ‘Simple’ product, when it came into contact with me eyes it didn’t sting or cause irritation. I would give this product a 4/10.

Nivea Visage Double Effect Eye Make Up Remover (125ml) £3.59 available at Boots ~ link.

Finally, this is the one that removes ‘Benefit’s They’re Real’ mascara.

I included a picture so you can see why it is called ‘Double Effect’ the product is made up of oil and water, so you have to shake it to get the full effect. This doesn’t really have a scent and again doesn’t sting or irritate my eyes. Because the product is oil based, it leaves an oily residue, which I didn’t like so I would wash my face afterwards, however it is by far the best to remove mascara! The oil is the key thing that helps. I wouldn’t wake up in the morning with panda eyes. Out of all three this is the one I would re-buy! So I am giving it a 8/10.

Anyone have a favourite eye make up remover they want to share with me? :)

Lots of Love Daisy xoxo

Will have to give the Nivea one a go, Benefit they’re real is lovely but it is the bane of my life every evening! xx

I know it really is! So so hard to get off, but any oil based make up remover works a charm on it :) xo

Thanks for this post! I’m the same as Chloe with They’re Real being the bane of my life – we definitely have a love/hate relationship! lol. I will be sure to give the Nivea a go, it sounds similar to something I have from Vie at Home, which I can’t get hold of easily anymore, plus its loads cheaper!

    Ash :-)
