I remember back in 2005 (I think it was) when Givenchy launched this revolutionary product. I was just 14 and saved up my pennies to purchase it. Back then I didn’t get on very well with it, I found it far too fiddly and if I’m being honest it just didn’t work as well as the Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara – you know the one?! You layer it a million times until your eyelashes are all stuck together and you have like 3 (ha) But now I have mastered the trick and this little tube is the only mascara that is in my current make up bag.
The unique selling point of this mascara is that the brush is actually a spiky ball, designed to capture all of your eyelashes – top and bottom – and really get the small ones near the corners of your eyes. Admittedly the brush is a bit scary to start with but with a few tips and tricks it becomes your best friend.
The first thing you have to do is prep your eyelashes, make sure there is nothing on them (not even some of last nights mascara) then get your eyelash curlers and curl each eye for about 10-15 seconds. I find that because this brush is a ball it doesn’t get the curl I am after, so I do that manually.
I then take a seat and get a handheld mirror and start by pushing the ball up my eyelashes, this adds lots of volume! When the formula is just about dry I give it a second coat to achieve that extra black definition. It truly does capture all of my eyelashes making them look natural and even…
