Lifestyle | “The one with Central Perk” 199 Lafayette, NYC.

I have literally just got back from visiting Central Perk, I still can’t quite get over the fact that I have sat on that infamous orange sofa! Ahhhhhhhhhh. The cafe has opened at 199 Lafayette until the 18th of October for the 20th anniversary of Friends.

So I might of only been 2 when the first episode aired, but the content and ‘banter’ is still so relevant today, it doesn’t matter that they don’t have ‘cell’ phones, twitter, facebook or cameras snapping their every memorable moments, it is a TV show everyone can relate to and will be able to until the end of time (I hope anyway!) If you are lucky enough to be visiting New York ┬áduring this time, I highly recommend for any Friends fan that you must go and visit!!! You might be queueing for a while, but I promise it is worth it. I am going to share with you the pictures I have taken, so warning now *SPOILER ALERT* if you don’t want to see it beforehand click off now.

Major Friends fans will recognise these iconic outfits. Ross’s leather trousers are at the back… although with no talcum powder stains… and Monica’s see through red top from when she does Karaoke.

The Geller Cup!

Two words… SCIENCE BOY.

So this cabinet was pretty cool, it contained Monica and Chandlers engagement rings and wedding vows, Science Boy! Ross’s laminated list, Emma Gellers baby scan and baby tag…

The whole experience was amazing, you also get a free cup of coffee… I’m not a coffee drinker but this wasn’t the best cup of coffee, even Tom said it tasted bad… maybe it is meant to be from the circa when Rachel was a barista! ha. The cafe is open from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and longer on weekends. It is definitely more like a museum than a cafe but I think that is slightly better as people can’t hog the sofa or spend too long in front of things. Now I am sat with a cup of tea watching Friends….
