Shame on me for not doing a blog post on Friday – I totally forgot and if I am honest I didn’t have a Foodie Friday post for you as I had eaten so badly last week. But I have a couple of good ones up my sleeve for this week and next :)
The weather lately has been SO annoying – by being classically British and unpredictable ‘Hello Autumn’. Katie Holmes has always been a bit of a fashion idol for me, she manages to pull off casual well, smart well, and just plain chic, well! I saw her wearing some awkward style leather culottes – except that she looked amazing in them, obviously! So I checked out my failsafe ASOS and found a pair from River Island, so you know I can just BE her!
Both of these outfits above, are quite dressy and I cannot for the life of me walk in heels (at least for no more than an hour), I wanted to get some for work and hopefully pull them off with a brogue or studded sandal. These trousers are so versatile and definitely an investment piece for the season ahead, leather can never go out of fashion! In saying this I hope I never look back at these outfits and cringe…
The first outfit I feel is quite safe, I went for dark/neutral colours with a bit of jazz on the shoes :) (sadly not by Mr. Valentino but by Aldo) I actually paired this with a sleeveless black coat as well which just pulled the outfit together, but definitely wasn’t warm enough with the brisk day ahead. I ended up travelling to Cornwall in this and it was super comfy, the ‘leather’ is really soft and doesn’t crease or mark easily at all, which is really important when it comes to these fabrics as a lot of the time you can’t actually put them through the washing machine.
The second outfit is probably my favourite though, purely because of the colour of my gilet.
Hi to both of me there – I bought this gilet last year from Topshop and I absolutely adore the colour, its such a gem. This outfit really works for me as there are just subtle hints of leopard print, the belt and the shoes really complete the outfit. The top that I am wearing is actually a body which I have a separate post on, they seem to be in this season, I have seen them floating around the high street and all over ASOS, but nothing can beat a trusty Wolford ;)
When I first brought these culottes home, Tom went a little mental – he was like, just, no – they are awful Daisy. Well well Tom, I must of changed your mind now!? Come on!!
Who else will be investing in some leathers this season?
