Beauty Review | NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.

I first read about the NARS eye primer from Georgina over at Make Up Pixi, she had written good things about this one and an Urban Decay eye primer. I was in New York at the time and opted for the NARS one… It has become an essential product along the way and even more so in the last few months as my skin has become oily – including my eye lids where no eye shadow seems to stay without creasing!

It took me a while to get used to the doe applicator, I put too little on or too much, it was never quite right. But now I have perfected that and I pop a bit on and use my fingers to blend it in. The formula is like a thin eye cream, it blends really well into the skin but you have to wait a few minutes for it to dry (I usually apply it after my foundation – hence the brush being quite dirty … sorry! – but before my eye brows so when I am doing those the primer is drying) you then pop your eyeshadow straight over the top and thats it! Your eyeshadow lasts through a hot and sweat day/night or even a cool winters walk without creasing or going flaky! I also find it brings out the true textures and colours of many eyeshadows out.

This is a high end product, costing £19.50 for 8g but it lasts ages as you don’t need a lot! I still have mine left and I’ve had it about 9 months now.

What other eye primers would people recommend?

I love my Urban Decay Primer Potion for eyeshadow priming! It really makes it stick all day

I use the UD Primer Potion because it makes the shadow stick better + it doesn’t matter what I put over the top, it just won’t crease – I’m too in love with it to try anything else!

I normally use cream eyeshadows or concealer, but I’ve been looking for a more neutral option to priming my eyes. This sounds like the ideal product :)
