Apparently people with dark eyes can wear just about any eye shadow colour, yet I always always go for nudes, golds and browns, they look really flattering against my skin tone and they are really easy to wear during the day and add a little sparkle or smokey effect for the evening.
I bought this palette a while ago and it has travelled in my make up bag everywhere with me. The colours are perfect to take away on a weekend because even though there are only 4 shades they are very versatile. If you want to achieve the full smokey eyed effect, the palette is laid out for you to follow the steps. The circular brown shade is to cover the whole eye, the darkest shade is for the smokey eyed look, the light gold colour at the top is to highlight and the shade just below it goes into the socket to create definition. But this isn’t set in stone, I’ve mixed the shades around and worn some on their own, it is a great set for £7.99 and when Superdrug or Boots have a 3 for 2 on, it is great to pick this up alongside some other goodies.
The shades are quite pigmented, not amazingly like Naked Palettes but this is that on a budget… the only downside I have is that there is no mirror but again that is to do with pricing. This set has taught me how to create a really sexy smokey eye, so it also makes a really good present for girls just starting to play around and learn about make up!
